Minster endorses our policy on cultural infrastructure for New Towns
This morning, Matthew Pennycook MP, Minister of State for Housing and Planning, gave evidence to the House of Lords Built Environment Committee session exploring the future of New Towns.
The Minister cited an interim report from the New Towns Taskforce, which sets out 10 key principles for how the UK Government can identify potential sites and approaches for the delivery of New Towns.
We’re delighted that Culture Commons’ recommendation for embedding cultural infrastructure in New Town masterplanning as part of wider social infrastructure provisions has been incorporated by the Taskforce.
We developed this recommendation alongside 30 partners as part of a major four nations open policy development programme exploring ‘cultural devolution’ in 2024.
